On Creativity

What is Creativity?

Creativity is all of life. It lives within the Earth as much as it lives within you. It is expressing yourself in a unique, nonconventional, outstanding, & authentic way; your thoughts, experiences, consumed ideas, & perspectives. Creativity strikes through curiosity, spontaneously, through inspiration, or through intentional cultivation. Creativity is art. It is expression. To take what is within you & bring it into the external world is what brings fulfillment. The only limit is what you can imagine. Creation can happen anywhere & in everything. It's the fruit of life. We were put on this Earth by our creator to create. From intricate paintings to elaborately advanced spaceships, creation is a power like no other. The physical manifestation of a thought that can influence anyone & everyone. Its byproduct is fulfillment, love, appreciation, happiness, and the state of wholeness. Many people in modern-day are disconnected from this truthful part of themselves. Their environment may not nurture creativity; some have never attempted to experience it; others fear not being like others; conformity. Different reasons, one effect: disconnection, a feeling of emptiness, as if something is missing. It is up to you to dance with reality in a way that ignites the flame of creativity. On this journey, there will be trials, blockages, & parts of your life that no longer fit. Many stop here. They aren't willing to experiment until they've gotten a hold of it. Maybe they'll use an excuse. Whatever limits them blinds them to the happiness they'd feel if they tried in the present. Comfort feels safer, less unknown. But if you tread into this territory, you realize how different life can be, what you're capable of, how vast your beauty can go, & how much you have to share. You elevate yourself into a world filled with passion, a new lens where everything holds potential. You realize your power & its glory. Your energy may rise, meaningless thoughts may fade, & you begin to view things with more love, curiosity, & interest. You embrace your true self; child-like at its roots, grounded in the present, & anticipating the future. It reminds you that you are capable of anything you put your mind to. A world of wonders. Where your intention lies when building something will be imbued into what you build. Every creation displays its true light. Wherever you are in the game of life, you can be as creative as the best painters, engineers, & builders. It takes effort, patience, experience, experimentation, no judgment, & a little love. Tapping into this power is exciting & is the source of the most astonishing creations. Everything you use or see every day began as someone's thought. Creativity is formless; authentically tailored to you. Ideas ignite from your particular interests mixed into one, from new thoughts, or from conversations overheard. Ideas will flow if you allow space & remain open to receiving them. Creativity has no limitations. It's whatever you want it to be, as long as it's authentically!

Everyone is Creative.

Creativity can be found within everyone. The only thing that differs is whether it's dormant within the individual or not. When you are a kid, this energy is tapped into effortlessly. It is something so important to a child. It comes with a sort of ignorance about the world. But as an adult, it's not something that comes so effortlessly & is frequently neglected because of the business of life, as well as other factors. It is also an ignorance about the way of life. But the best part is that it still lives within every one of us, & it can thrive. In our adult years, with more gained wisdom, experimentation, & improvement, it can be seen as a muscle that needs training. As you keep working this muscle with consistency, the easier it becomes to be creative in every aspect of your life, possibly leading to a thorough creation of your whole reality. Not to mention it's incredibly fun, as well as empowering. The root of creativity is a child-like perspective, experimental exploration, curiosity, visualization, imagination, & expression. Every single person, when placing themselves in a position of being able to receive, can surface very valuable ideas.

Why be Creative?

The physical manifestation of creativity is your dreams coming true! To be creative means to express what is true & pure within yourself. You are expressing something real, specifically to you, & the world wants that! It will bring you an ample amount of confidence to know that you can bring your thoughts into reality, thus creating a snowball effect, making tasks in the future more doable. This is the basis of creating your own reality. This is the part of you that can transform your whole world into a movie, into a cartoon, into a romance novel, literally anything you can think of. This will change your life. Being creative will benefit you in so many aspects of your being. The true power of creation is hidden from people so that you believe the only choice is to submit to 'bigger' forces, so that you can be a puppet for their play. To be a cog in their machine. Not a creator, who can make outstanding change that nobody has ever seen.

How to be Creative:

Whatever you're able to think, you are, within the general bounds of logic, able to manifest into the physical world. Don't be stuck on a real limitation with this, but use common sense, whatever that means to you. There are an infinite number of ways to exercise your creative abilities. The best starting point is to clear your mind, & think. The balance of the contradictions; yin & yang. Without limiting yourself is essential. If this is hard, it just isn't practiced enough. So first, focus on clearing your brain of mundane gunk. A great practice is mentioned in Dr. Joe Dispenza's book, where he talks about becoming no body, no where, in no time. If you are able, for a second, to picture yourself not being you with all the labels, all the associated knowings of your life, & to be in the void, an infinite space of creation, you can solely focus on creating without limitations. It is a place of a blank canvas. You are able to create anything you desire. By creating the dream life, project, encounter, or wish you are thinking of in that space, you are taking part in creative visualization. Try & visualize almost everything you can about this specific thing. How do your senses interact with it? What is the purpose of it? Why do you want to create it? What will this do for others? Gain clarity on this & bring shape to your idea, making it as well-rounded as possible, but leave out when & how. Love your creations, love yourself; unconditionally. If you love yourself, you'll realize the power you have. You open your mind to bigger & better possibilities You start to ask "What if?" You realize your true power when you embrace yourself & see yourself as the beautiful being that you are, as a fellow creator. Pamper yourself, romanticize your life, familiarize yourself with yourself, & treat yourself as a sacred being who deserves care in every opportunity. After becoming inspired, with heightened emotion that you strive to cultivate for yourself, begin co-creating with the universe. You love your creations as if they were your children, growing. This is the most beautiful, efficient, & graceful way to view your creations, as they are a child that you birthed into this universe. If you view your child with negativity, they won't grow optimally. You want to view it as a fragment of you growing into something beautiful, which it literally is. You also want to embrace 'failure' & 'humiliation', which are man-made, self-inflicted versions of putting yourself down for doing what is in your nature; expressing & learning. Start to gain a tolerance for failure, rejection, humiliation, & having zero expectations. These are the main causes for people losing faith or motivation. It's important to embrace imperfection as that within itself is perfection. Besides, that's also an example of holding an expectation. Once you familiarize yourself with these things & realize the true gift that these so-called 'negative experiences' bring you, you'll be unstoppable. Every moment is an opportunity to learn. Find the moral of everything you view as negative & it will help you grow. There's nothing to be embarrassed about, silly. Go as far as to push boundaries beyond the limitations of what you believe is the 'norm'. Create something meaningful to you. Create something some people might not even understand. Create something for the sole purpose of creating.

Let yourself be inspired by everything.

By seeing the greatness within all that has been created, you can find the inspiration to create something unique to you. To allow inspiration through anything & everything, seeing the beauty of potential through a creative lens, what you consume can be a beautiful new idea for you. You can get inspired by anything. Look around you right now, all those things can ignite something within you. The internet also has many different variations of anything you can & can’t name; an endless amount of beautiful creations made by fellow humans, waiting for you to appreciate them all to your heart's content, & find something that you can also take with you on your own creative journey.

What holds us back?

Search for things you normally wouldn't gravitate to. The truth is that many aspects of our lives are constructed to limit you from your potential. Your job may not be creative, your friends may not spark inspiration, your family might not support you, the world might look glum, & the media might seem tailored to what you specifically consume. This is the reality of what we live in. We live in a blueprint reality that was made before our time; something we had no say in, something that gives us a feeling of powerlessness, something that makes us docile, brainwashed, & conditioned. Something that isn't easy to break out of, but is absolutely possible. As long as you recognize the pattern you've been placed in & choose to break the cycle. There is not much room to think "outside of the box" unless you consciously place yourself outside of the box. Any attempt will move you in the right direction. It's important not to be let down by the things around you. So what? They are challenges that will lead you to something great. The disadvantages you face in your life are merely a reflection of what the benefits could look like if you focused on them. So go out & search. Look at yourself for a change.

It's not complicated.

As human beings, we are the ones who love to place limitations, rules, & 'realism' on things so we can feel like we understand the world around us. We love to say that we 'can' do this & 'can't' do that. We love to make it an analytical equation. But it truly is not as clear-cut as that. Reality isn't what you have been conditioned to believe it is, it isn't what you've been told it has to be, & for most, it isn't how it's supposed to feel either. That's okay, because it shows the heights of what you can achieve. Let's forget about labels, identifying this as that, or being possessive about what is 'yours'. It all becomes far less complicated when we stop trying to assign an explanation to everything. The universe grants you the knowledge that you seek if you simply search & are willing to receive. It is up to you to do something, to act, with the newfound knowledge that you have gained. Your perception will be the determining factor in how complex or heavy something turns into. If/when this happens, it is your responsibility to identify what is the altering factor & to remedy it. Remember what it felt like when you first started & embody that once again, or explore the options that are unlimitedly available to you.

How to be MORE creative:

Stop limiting yourself by believing everything is mundane. Consume media or things in everyday life with a creator mindset. See the potential within everything through your own lens. Something that can help attune you to creativity is to focus your energy inward, instead of outward. This helps you focus on yourself & your dreams, & start understanding what it is you want & your passions, even if you think you already know; they can go deeper than you imagine. So give it a try. Even when you aren't feeling creative, try doing something creative & see where it takes you. Feel the feelings you feel when engaging in the activity. Even if it feels like more work than happiness in that moment, in the end, you will not regret attempting to create something for yourself. Remember, 85% of the time, it isn’t something that can be picked up immediately. So don’t let go because you feel incapable or that it’s too time-consuming. Those are excuses, therefore limitations you are placing on yourself & the passion, unless you truly decide that it does not resonate with you. The decision must be clear. If you want something, you must seek it, disregarding when or how you’ll get it, even if you aren’t seeing progress. That’s how something truly beautiful is born. This is potent behavior. So after a while, reflect: is this something you wish to pursue long-term, or a creative burst of exploration? Balance it in your life with other things you deem worthy of your time, in your own prioritization hierarchy, adjusting as time continues. Diversity is key to the best performance in all that you do. It’s okay if sometimes you feel it’s not your thing or you become demotivated. The beauty is, if it’s meant for you, it will keep finding you. Your love or interest will resurface, or maybe you must seek it out. The key is to trust the process & know that what is meant for you will ultimately come. However you feel, stay open to finding this passion. Remember that negative/uncertain feelings are part of the learning process & won’t limit you as long as you face them, accept them, & deny them meaning; in other words, persevere. Keep trying & trying. Don’t let anything stop you from creating or finding what you want to create. Turn off the noise & embrace boredom. Absorbing the silence of life lets you think about things that can spark a creative movement within you. But that takes honing. In silence, intrusive or meaningless thoughts may arise, or you may overthink. Think of your mind as a radio station, allowing you to tune into different stations at the flick of an imaginary button (your attention). If you switch to a quiet station, you take a break from overstimulation, give your brain rest, release stress, & allow creative ideas to surface. If you’re thinking all the time about whatever, there is no time for anything “out of the box,” creative, or groundbreaking. You have to make the time & dedicate the energy to it. Overstimulation producing desensitization is the root of why the majority do not pursue a passion or create something with no essence.

Breakthoughs will come; stay consistent.

It’s important to keep up with your creation process because ultimately, you will reach a breakthrough. Enjoy the process! Take a break whenever you need to, but don’t lose sight of the creation. Have a 1-min dance break?!?!? Go stand outside & absorb some sunlight. Be CREATIVE! You’ll gain clarity, inspiration, & motivation if you hold your mind on what matters to you. Where attention flows, energy goes. However, simultaneously as important, you have to learn when it's time to take a break. Or else the creation will turn into something it was not meant to! Balance is critical.

Embrace Shiny Object Syndrome.

Some people may call it a hyper-fixation. Some people may relate it to a disorder. Forget about the interpreted correlation for now. Shiny Object Syndrome is when you find something & become enveloped in the idea, activity, object, or situation. It is a focus of all your attention on one amazing thing (to you) that may even take up all your time. A lot of people end up neglecting health or daily activities for this, so I urge you to approach it in a healthy way. By following the shiny object, you may discover a deep-rooted passion within you. Remember that the beginning stage of this newfound thing is a honeymoon phase. That feeling can return, but don’t give up on it completely after that phase is over. If it’s truly a passion of yours, it will attract itself back to you. Engaging in it healthily is key. It is crucial because you learn the lay of the land by exploring, thus diversifying your knowledge. Reject the closed mindset that is prevalent in our society, which will inevitably die as time passes.

Be a Co-Creator

The Universe is a vast land of creativity, with wild & beautifully elegant things, highly intellectual creatures, & absolutely astonishing mind-bending pieces of work; something that makes you want to live in a moment forever because it’s so beautiful. We are all creations of the Universe. We are blessed with the ability to create things for ourselves, our fellow humans, & other species. You are special in such a way that nobody has the same experiences & perspectives that you wield, so if you put your attention on creating, you can create something authentic; something life-changing, groundbreaking, world-vibrationally altering.

Creation & Expression

First, we create something out of inspiration, which comes from consumption & absorption. If we do not have inspiration, we continue to make attempts until there is a breakthrough, or we do what we intuitively know is right toward our goal, even unconsciously. Through our creations, we are expressing parts of ourselves. If we reach an obstacle, it’s a wonderful learning moment that should be analyzed in order to better perform & advance our creation. We let go of expectations for how anyone other than ourselves may perceive our creation, & we express it. We express it to our fullest capabilities, doing whatever we feel is needed to fully express it, limiting the amount of limitation we place on our expression, our creation, & ourselves. It’s difficult to separate expression & creation, as they are interchangeable & can apply in one circumstance equally & accurately. They are one in the same. For clarification: creation that stems from an inauthentic part of someone is still their creation & expression. It is another vibration of their higher selves (seen as lower), like in Hinduism, where one god has 10 avatars. It was a creation tapped into a particular frequency that isn’t as desirable for someone who strives to be completely real. It isn’t that clear-cut for most people, but for distilling purposes, it is worded as such. A lot of negative people in history have created things out of an inauthentic part of themselves, which has led to horrible things. (History repeats itself) The best thing: everyone has the capability to change & be the best version of themselves. Everyone can change the world, guiding it into the best possible course. Everyone can wake up & realize that we are alive on planet Earth for a short duration, & our everyday actions & time spent matter & are meaningful.

The Bottom Line/ Recap:

We can break it down into digestible pieces. There are no limitations to creativity. It is only the self-inflicted boundaries, walls, & structures that you conform to. For many, this is hard to see because it is truly everywhere around us. This can be easier said than done; some might view it as impossible. But there is always hope. You cannot give up. There may be other challenges you have to face before you allow yourself to be creatively free. This is okay. As long as you have the notion that you want something better, the world will present opportunities. It is crucial to look within, asking yourself what you can control & start there. External factors will change afterwards. You must embrace the unknown, for it is where the gifts lie! Get uncomfortable to experience comfort at its most prime levels. You will feel more alive & human than ever before, & you will be fulfilled. You will discover deeper parts of yourself. You will grow extra-ordinarily. You will connect to your inner child. You will reach new heights of understanding & consciousness. You will rebel against modern structures. You will inflict change. You will open new doors. You will become more open-minded, more understanding of the world. You will understand the heights you can reach. You will change your perspective. You will stand in your power. You will become disciplined. You will learn to trust yourself. You will break patterns. You will understand your purpose. You will create your purpose. You will create something magnificent. You will manifest a part of your soul into the physical realm. & much more.
